Thought for the Day

The way of faith is, of course, not confined to A.A. It is for everybody who really wants to live. But many people can go through life not knowing that all faith is abjectly and 100% in ‘finite self’ instead of infinite God. Many are doing so, to their own sorrow. The world is full of lack of faith in a power other than self. 

Many people have lost confidence in any meaning in the universe. Many are wondering if it has any meaning at all. Many are at loose ends. Life has no goal for many. They are like actors on a stage that have forgotten their lines. There are no lines.

But for us in A.A., the way of examination of where my faith is directed is the way of life. 

We have proved by our track records that we could not live without making a decision to examine our faith in self (thoughts and feelings) and turn it to point to the still small voice in my heart that is a Power greater than myself for my life today.

Contemplation for the Day

Do I think I can live happily with faith in self?

What does that mean?

What areas of life are as yet uninvestigated about where I put my faith?

What would my life look like if faith in self was admitted as failed and that there is One who has all power?

Prayer for the Day

Can you please show me how faith is in finite self? Things that I am unwilling or unable to look at?
