This is a simple principle from step one that is packed with spiritual-reality. In order for me to change, I must be convinced that something is failed. I was at a meeting last night and the speaker said “I forget to rely on God” and my first thought was, ‘yeah me too and when I do where is my faith?’ So take any thought, false dependency, or attribute of your character that you find objectionable and put it to the test. Is it possible to be free of this without a full concession to my innermost-self that I can’t live in this world without with it.
How many times has a newcomer told you they were positive they were alcoholic and then was drunk? How many times have you told yourself you were going to do this or that or change this or that and not come through?
As it turns out, there is One who has all power and it isn’t me.
Contemplation for the Day
What is my “innermost-self?” How can ‘I’ fully concede anything to it?
Prayer for the Day
Can you please show me if it’s possible to turn an intellectual belief into spiritual understanding and make a full concession to my innermost-self?
